Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) defeated Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) in one of the country's most competitive Senate races Tuesday.

Leading up to Nov. 4, Cotton's campaign had targeted Pryor as one of the most vulnerable Democratic incumbents and had worked to tie him to President Barack Obama. In response, Pryor tried to make Cotton vulnerable over his votes against the farm bill, federal disaster aid and funding pediatric research at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Cotton was first elected to Congress in 2012.
