- Impeachment impasse: Members of Yoon Suk Yeol's party walked out of parliament as the opposition called on them to return and vote. Yoon apologized for briefly imposing martial law, but did not resign. Thousands of furious citizens assembled outside parliament, demanding impeachment.
- And in Romania: The country's top court annulled an ongoing presidential election over accusations of Russian meddling and said the whole process would have to restart from the beginning. Analysts say the ruling may erode institutions, trigger protests and endanger the nation's pro-Western course. The U.S. has voiced concern about foreign interference.
