- The Israeli military carried out at least five airstrikes on the Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs of Beirut today, after Israel's defense minister ruled out any ceasefire in Lebanon until Israel's goals had been met. Follow the latest.

- A Dutch court accepted Shell's appeal against a landmark climate ruling. The original 2021 ruling ordered the oil and gas company to cut its absolute carbon emissions by 45% by 2030 compared to 2019 levels, including those caused by the use of its products.
- Bitcoin stood on the verge of $90,000 today, riding a wave of euphoria for the past week. The world's biggest cryptocurrency has become one of the most eye-catching movers since the US election, on expectations Trump will be crypto friendly.
- Genetic testing firm 23andMe is reducing about 40%, or 200 employees, from its workforce and discontinuing further development of all its therapies as part of a restructuring program.
- China's aerospace ambitions took center stage on the first day of the Zhuhai air show, with COMAC announcing Air China as the first customer for its C929 widebody jet, while a model of the country's first commercial uncrewed spaceplane was on display.
