- Tesla has cut prices on its two most expensive electric vehicles in the United States, days after Elon Musk said recent price cuts on other models had stoked demand. The price cuts, Tesla's fifth adjustment since the start of the year, ranged from 4% to 9%.
- Harris Associates, one of Credit Suisse's major shareholders, has sold its stake in the Swiss bank over the past few months, said the deputy chairman and chief investment officer of the activist Chicago-based investor, David Herro.
- Extreme weather caused by climate change could cost Germany up to 900 billion euros in cumulative economic damage by mid-century, a study showed, as Europe's biggest economy seeks climate adaptation measures to cut the damages bill.
- Stock market investors are calling time on the idea that the Federal Reserve, and other major central banks, have their back. Hopes for interest rate cuts by year-end have evaporated, given resilient data and sticky inflation.
- The Turkish Competition Board said it had decided to fine billionaire Elon Musk 0.1% of Twitter's gross income in Turkey in 2022, as his takeover of the company occurred without the board's permission. The board said in a statement that the ruling would be open to a legal challenge.

- As the 2024 presidential race kicks into gear, local Republican party organizations are consumed by rebellions, infighting and court battles that some officials and strategists said could damage the party's chances of winning back the White House.
- Three U.S. airlines agreed to eliminating family seating fees if adjacent seats are available during booking. Under pressure from the Biden administration, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Frontier Airlines will include the guarantee in customer service plans.
- Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, in Jordan to begin a three-country Mideast visit, is aiming to reassure key allies of American commitment to the region despite Washington's recent focus on Russia and China, officials said, but plans frank messages for leaders of Israel and Egypt.
