No Images? Click here Hello Highliners,Let's start here, with two demographic trends that don't make a whole lot of sense when considered together:1. Americans, particularly young ones, are less committed to organized religion now than they ever have been.2. More young women are taking steps to become nuns after 50 straight years of decline in the Catholic sisterhood.Clearly, something is up. But what? Eve Fairbanks, one of our favorite Highline veterans, went to investigate. And in true Eve fashion, what she came back with is more lyrical and open-hearted, more insightful about the ghoulish state of the modern world, than anyone could've reasonably hoped for.I won't give away much, but I will say that you don't need to be the slightest bit religious to understand where Eve is coming from. The story is about how all of us, but young people especially, are under enormous pressure to lead perfect lives: to succeed in our careers, to find a partner who will fulfill all of our needs, to never fail, and to do all this in the view of everyone on social media. It's about finding peace wherever you can when the world feels a little more toxic and unstable than it should.Anyway, I'm really interested in what you think about this piece, so email us back at this address when you're done.Best,GregMore from Highline...
