The Kansas City Royals defeated the New York Mets, 7-2, to win the World Series on early Monday, the team's first World Series title since 1985.
The Royals overcame a 2-0 deficit in the 9th inning to force extra innings, and scored five runs in the 12th. They won the World Series in five games.
