HUFFPOST ALERT Hillary Clinton Launches 2016 Presidential Campaign Stacy Revere via Getty Images Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton officially entered the race for president in 2016 on Sunday. John Podesta, Clinton's campaign chairman, sent an email to supporters Sunday afternoon telling them that Clinton was running. Podesta said that Clinton was heading to Iowa to meet voters and that there would be a formal kickoff event next month.
