- Russian forces attacked Ukraine's second-largest city Kharkiv and the surrounding region with guided aerial bombs, wounding at least 15 people, Kharkiv Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov said.
- A suspected leak of classified Gaza documents involving an aide to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has jolted Israeli politics and outraged the families of hostages held by Hamas who have been pushing for a deal to get their loved ones home.
- Israel's effective use of air-launched ballistic missiles in its airstrikes against Iran is expected to pique interest elsewhere in acquiring the weapons, which most major powers have avoided in favor of cruise missiles and glide bombs.
- Quincy Jones, the man known simply as "Q," died at the age of 91. Jones was a huge influence on American music in his work with artists ranging from Count Basie to Frank Sinatra and reshaped pop music in his collaborations with Michael Jackson.

- Economists say that Trump's tariff plans, likely his most consequential economic policy, would push US import duty rates back up to 1930s-era levels, stoke inflation, collapse US-China trade, draw retaliation and drastically reorder supply chains.
- The US Supreme Court is set to consider bids by two tech giants - Meta's Facebook and Nvidia - to fend off federal securities fraud lawsuits in separate cases that could make it harder for private litigants to hold companies to account.
- Americans are still eagerly seeking prescriptions for Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk's weight-loss and diabetes drugs but cannot always fill them because of supply issues and insurance hurdles, according to their doctors.
- Boeing US West Coast factory workers will hold a vote on an improved contract offer that could end a seven-week strike and restart jet production at the troubled planemaker.
- China has urged France to push the European Commission towards a solution acceptable to both the European and Chinese electric vehicle industries, while France said the bloc would not yield on key matters as it pushes to overturn a tariff on brandy.
- Some of the biggest Chinese-owned solar factories in Vietnam are cutting production and laying off workers, spurred on by the expansion of US trade tariffs. Meanwhile, in nearby Indonesia and Laos, a slew of new Chinese-owned solar plants are popping up, out of the reach of Washington's trade protections.
- Seven French families have filed a lawsuit against social media giant TikTok, accusing the platform of exposing their adolescent children to harmful content that led to two of them taking their own lives at 15.
